Lamman Rucker -"Waiting On You"

One of the best Poems about a man waiting on God to send him the woman that is meant for him. How awesome.

Everything is possible when you Believe

I have started on a great journey and adventure. I have started my own publishing company called Kubbic Inch Productions. It is a lot of work and I try not to let a day go by where I'm not working on my film or my company. The first film is my short film I wrote called "Shenika's Redemption" - So far so good. All things are falling into place. Mom is making the dresses I need, My Production manager Zindy is getting other things together.  Well anyway I will save the rest of the story on the Kubbic Inch Blog.  But as for me the Actress - I'm still excited about the new show, Dysfunction. Hopefully we start rehearsals on time. I am the lead and we are opening at the Apollo. How wonderful is that.  I also just finished performing as Titania in Daydream: Midsummer Night's Dream short version. I love doing that show. I'm still so inspired. I feel like I'm on my way to so much more that I cannot even imagine it.  I went to Saint Thomas It was beautiful, I will post pictures too.

MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM - SHORT VERSION IN PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN

I just got cast in Midsummer Night's Dream - playing Titania. I am so happy to have been cast in another Shakepearean production. I took the advice of my wonderful teacher and classmates in my Shakespeare Intensive and revamped my monologue and it paid off.  I'm so Excited.  The show will be every weekend in June during the day time. Matinee performances on saturday and Sunday there may also be two Friday matinee performances.  So as soon as I'm done with I'm Every Woman it will be time for rehearsal for Midsummer.  Yea!!!

A bit of Sad News.

This months has been a blessing, but there has also been a few tragedies too.  I lost a cousin and an uncle within 3 weeks of each other.  I also lost my car. It was totalled in a car accident.  God still sits on the Throne.  Thank God no one was killed or hurt in the car accident.

My cousin past away on Resurrection Sunday which is Easter in a Charleston, SC hospital. My aunt was of course devistated as well as the family and my uncle past away last Friday on the 23rd. He was my dad's last brother. The funeral is probably next week sometime but we don't really know.  He was tired and didn't want to fight anymore. So he gave up and past quietly in a hospital in GA. Daddy said he died of malnutrician. He had pneumonia and just stopped eating. His lungs were bad but if he had a little fight left in him; he might have lived. But when you say your tired of living then there really is no recourse from that. So God took him home.

God Bless you Uncle Roger and God Bless you Charles.  Love you both. Sorry I didn't get to tell you lately, but I hope you knew that is how the whole family felt on both sides.

Finally the Wait is Over - I GOT A NEW YORK AGENT

Yes as of April 19th. I am now with ABOUT FACE TALENT.  My agent Sonya Stewart, came from one of my previous agencies and  asked me to go with her. I said of Course I will, without a second thought.  I am so excited. So far she has sent me out on 2 auditions. I haven't booked anything yet but I'm sure I soon will. Well I haven't booked anything she has sent me too yet.  I have of course booked my own stuff, by God's unmatching grace.  So I will keep you posted. So far, I have auditioned Nuvisions which is the Neilsen Ratings Training Video and a go see for Flumist at Impossible Casting.  We will see what the Lord brings. It's exciting. Isn't it.

I'm Every Woman

I am playing the lead role in this show. It is hilarious. I am so excited to be working with the great cast of actors and actresses again. Darryl Leonard is a wonderful Director and Writer. I pray that he will get his break to tour or to even put one of his productions on Broadway or Film.  I know it will happen. He is consistent and genuine.  May 9th for Mother's Day. It's On!!!

2010 is so Awesome Right now.

Well this year seemed to have started off a little slow, but actually it is right on time. I had a fabulous staged reading with the Negro Ensemble Company. The show was called "Rising" - About a black woman from Baltimore who volunteered to teach the ex slaves how to read. Her name was Helen Walker. The playwrite said that I looked just like her. I was just glad that Marie McKinney was satisfied with my performance. She thought I did an awesome job and I really connected to my character and had the underlying struggle within. More new coming right up.

3 Successful Runs

I just finished 3 productions at one time. The Paul Robeson Theatre, The Negro Ensemble Repertory and Isaiah's Dream. I believe 2 of the casting directors that I invited showed up. I am so glad they came out to see me perform. I hope they call me for auditions. I'm only sure about one of them that came, I did not get the name of the other casting director but I'm excited because they took the time to support me and the cast. Well what's next.....Audition time again for next year shows. I do continue with Isaiah's Dream - January 8th is the next performance. This has been a great year. This was the most lead parts I had in one year. I'm sure there will be more leads next year. So I'm excited to see what God has instore for me. May it be a year of abundance for all of us.
